What is EMDR Therapy? Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence base model that helps clients break through past emotionally challenging experiences that interfere with their present life. EMDR assists clients in letting go of negative experiences to a more adaptive processing.
How does EMDR work? EMDR uses Bilateral Dual Attention Stimulation Reprocessing which assists the client to effectively work through disturbing negative memories. EMDR assists the brain in reprocess trapped memories is such a way that normal information processing is resumed.
What is EMDR Intensives? It’s an accelerated form of therapy in which EMDR is offered in a series of longer sessions of 2-4 hours. Over the course of an extended session or sessions clients may be able to make strides on their healing path.
Who’s a candidate for EMDR? EMDR was originally established for clients struggling with PTSD. It has also shown to be effective in treating other conditions such as but not limited to anxiety, depression, OCD, loss, grief, pain and addictions.
